December Newsletter

Here we are - the last month of 2007! And what a year it's been! We've been open for a little more than one year now, and we've made so many new friends. We love you all, and hope you all have the merriest of holidays.

Don't forget to stop by for our make it and take it on Saturday, December 8. The fun starts at 1:30 until we close at 3 PM. We'll be making pillowcases for those last minute gifts, and you can use them for gift wrapping too! Fill out a wish list while you're here so those special people in your life can shop easily for you. All you have to do is tell them to come in, and ask for your list. We'll put it all together for them, and they can play Santa with a smile!

Last month's Coop Group was a big crowd! There's always room for one more, so join us and bring a project to work on. We always have a lot of fun!

NOVEMBER NEWSLETTER

Here it is Turkey Month! Blustery weather and the holidays are right around the corner! We are so thankful to have you as our friends and customers. We are all thankful to have creative hands and hearts to warm our souls, don't you think?

We're interested in your ideas about a quilting retreat for 2008. Check out the survey to the left of the page, and give us your thoughts!

We'll be open on Friday and Saturday following Thanksgiving. Come see us while all those football games are on, and find fabulous gifts and treasures for your upcoming projects. Start thinking about your Wish List, too. While you're here, ask for one, and we'll keep it on file so you can send your family and friends by to pick things off your list. Painless for them, and priceless for YOU! It's never too early to think about what you want or need, right?

Next month's newsletter will be all about the Christmas Holidays! Get started now, and don't be late! Have you thought about your Christmas gifts yet? Need ideas? How about a set of Denise interchangeable knitting needles, light up needles to knit in the car, or fancy stitch markers? We also have pretty project bags, too. Our little lambie pie tape measures would be a nice thing to add to the list, too - or to pick up for tuck-in gifts for either yourself or your friends. Temporary "Born to Quilt" tattoos are a must for every quilter's list, and 2008 Quilt Calendars are available now, too.

Please take note that our new Thursday hours are 10:00 - 6:00.

COOP GROUP DATE CHANGE

For November only, we will be meeting the 2nd Tuesday because of Thanksgiving.
11/13, 6:00-9:00. December will be 12/18.
For those of you new to the newsletter, we get together once a month to work on our projects. We order pizza, everyone brings what they want to drink and we have lots of fun. Come join us!

JUST FOR YOU!
"Make it and Take It" sessions will be our Super Saturday events for November and December. We know you are busy, and always want to make something special for your family, but always seem to run out of time, so here's the plan:

From 10:30 to 12:30, on November 17, you can join Caroline and learn how to make a needle felted scarf in 2 hours or less. AND it will either be finished in that time or pretty darned close. Be sure to sign up so your seat and supplies can be reserved for you. Cost of the kit and instruction on this day only is $10.00. (Sorry, no choice of color in the kit.) Kit includes fabric, roving for felting and felting needle.

We'll have another "Make it and Take It" Super Saturday December 8, with Sharon from 10:30 to 12:30. You won't have to bring a sewing machine, or scissors or supplies for this one, either! How about pillowcases for all the kids (and wanna be kids) on your list? We have small travel and standard size pillowcase kits already made up for you. You can sew one up in no time at all, and be ready for the holiday - on time! Two prices for this session - $9.00 for small cases and $12.00 for standard cases. Free pattern included. (Sorry, no choice of color on the kit for the session).

Sign up as soon as you can - space will be limited in both of these sessions. If enough people sign up, it is possible, the time will be expanded.

Carol Rossow demonstrating YoYos

Anniversary Report
Our anniversary sale was a hit! We're so happy to have gotten to see so many of you, and Saturday was absolutely magnificent. Carol Rossow was here demonstrating Clover's hot little tool - YoYo makers. They literally rolled out the door! If you didn't get to see them being made, or know what we are talking about, please come in and ask about them. We have samples made up, and once you make some, you won't want to stop. They are that addictive when you don't have to cut circles or worry about an even 1/4" seam all the way around. We have some in stock, and these are great gift ideas, too.
Congratulations to the two lucky winners of our door prizes! Myriam Acosta won the knitting prize and Sara Mae Ulrich was the recipient of the Quilting prize.

Since we had such great comments about our sale items in the Coop, we've decided to keep it that way. All merchandise in the Coop is 25% off every day.

FOR THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER: The more you spend in the Main Shop, the more you will save in the Coop. Here's how it works:

Spend $25.00-$50.00 in the Main Shop-----------Take 30% off items in the Coop

Spend $50.00-$100.00 in the Main Shop----------Take 35% off items in the Coop

FEATURED QUILTER OF THE MONTH

Jeanette England – She describes herself as beginning to intermediate quilter, and has been quilting for about 4 years.

Need help with a design? Jeanette did! She knew she need to get a baby quilt completed with the help of 14 kindergartners from Stilwell Elementary. She came into the shop, and walked out with the complete scoop of how to let the kidlets personalize it, and a week later, it was ready to go to be gifted. Do stop by if you need help with ideas, or color, or just to share your work. You never know! You might be the next featured quilter of the month!

Way to go, Jeanette!
